This position paper is initiated by the Association SOS Children’s Villages Romania and FONPC (the Federation of Non-Governmental Organizations for Children) under the project “Role of Non-Governmental Organizations in Alternative Child Care. Joint Investment in Quality”. It has been drawn up with participation of 48 local public authorities and 68 non-governmental organizations that provide social services to children and attended the 8 work meetings held for the development regions in Romania. The document gathers together specific proposals to enhance cooperation between NGOs and public authorities, including to render stronger the financial sustainability and visibility of NGOs operating in the area of alternative child care.
