Two members of the Azerbaijani child-focused coalition, NGO Alliance for Children’s Rights – Reliable Future Youth Organization and World Vision Azerbaijan – have conducted a research aiming to collect evidence about the existing resources, initiatives and gaps with regards to the services provided to children with disabilities and to their families in two districts in Azerbaijan: Khazar and Surakhani. The “Baseline study of situation of children with disabilities and their social inclusion” followed a research methodology based on a community based approach.

Through special questionnaire forms (KAP survey forms) the baseline study measured the overall knowledge, the attitudes and the practices of families of children with disabilities, as well as the ones of teachers, NGO and government representatives from the selected pilot regions. The research aims to contribute to tackling the stigmatization of children with disabilities and to their social inclusion.
